46th Annual Idaho Regatta Results

What a great weekend of racing at the 45th Annual Burley Idaho Regatta Presented by A-1 Heating & Air!!

A big thank you to Burley Idaho Regatta Committee, Staff & their volunteers for never giving up during this crazy time and making it happen!

A huge Thank You on behalf of racers and staff to Minidoka County Sherriff Swift Water Rescue team for providing excellent care on the water to our racers!!

Thanks to the racers that came from all over the country to make this year the biggest attended event in some 15+ years! Great to see all the APBA Region 10 Racers come out and support the event and all the rookies that made Burley their 1st event ever!

To the Sponsors, Thank you! Without your generous commitment to the event it would not have happened! Thank you to the Fans that came out on both days and made it one of the best attended events in many years!

A big hats off to those fans that came on Sunday and stayed in the rain!

Finally, a big thank you to the SCSC staff for always working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event run so smooth!

Racers and fans, just an FYI after speaking to Chris Kenner, since we didn't get to run the 2020 A-1 Heating & Air Shoot Out the money raised ($4,900 as I'm told) will roll over to next year and I'm sure money will be added to it making 2021 the richest shootout yet!

2020 Season Update

Race Teams & Fans, I'd like to take a moment to update you on the rest of the season, post Burley, which we're all looking forward to next weekend!!

Long Beach: As of now, according to the City of Long Beach (last week) it's still on Calendar, meaning it's still slated to happen on August 1 & 2, however, the City was very clear that that could change at any moment due to the fact they don't have clear guidelines from the State on sporting events with spectators. SCSC won't entertain running Long Beach without spectators for a myriad of reasons. So.....the long and short of it, we're still waiting and as usual, I will post an update as soon as I hear anything, either way from the City.

Lake Ming, October 3 & 4 - According to my last conversation with Kern County, late last week, it looks to be a go! I will know more in the coming weeks but the County Park's & Rec liaison seemed to feel we (SCSC) were going to get approval to hold the event. We may not be able to "invite" spectators to the event but we will soon see.

Enduro (October 31st) & 74th Annual Thanksgiving Regatta's (Nov. 27 & 28) - Both will happen however we may be racing at La Paz County Park as The Blue Water Resort & Casino has not yet re-opened and I'm in the process of making alternate plans just in case The Blue Water decides not to host events (which I'm told is a real possibility) not to mention the fact that like Long Beach, The Blue Water had mandated a $10 Million insurance policy (just like what we had to get for Long Beach last year) which poses a significant hardship to the organization (financially).

So, that's the update as of June 19th, 2020 and hopefully we will have the races mentioned above to look forward to this season!

Burley Update

Hello Everyone,

The Burley Idaho Regatta Committee has been hard at it to determine the best solution for everyone involved with our event. We are taking into consideration all aspects of the event. Our first and foremost concern is the economic impact that this shut down has caused for our Sponsors, Spectators/Fans and Racers. We do not want to contribute to the hardships being face by our racing families, our loyal Spectators/Fans and last but not least our amazing Sponsors that continue to support us every year. With out these three groups this race would not be possible.

We are working hard to sift through all the requirements and government protocol that is effecting our decision on whether we will will be holding the 45th annual Burley Idaho Regatta. According to Governor Brad Little the state of Idaho will be reopening in 4 stages. The stages are outlined on their website link at the bottom if you would like to see what we are dealing with. In addition to this we are attempting to get answers from the South Central Idaho Heath District as to the requirements we would have to meet in order to hold the event.

Given the current guidelines published today it is going to be a very tough call to make by the May 20th deadline that we have set for ourselves. If there are any setbacks at all in the stages laid out in the guidelines we will not be able to have the race. If everything goes as planed we will still be very close to not being able to meet the requirements set forth in the guide lines.

The good new in all this is that as of right now we are still planing to have a race. We are more than likely going to have to make some severe cuts to the program to do it. Due to the lack of sponsorship money and the economic hard ship that everyone is experiencing there may not be a possibility of Tow Money for this years event. We should be able to provide trophies and dinner. We will be able to provide our upmost respect and a appreciation for our Racers if the Tow Money is not able to be provided.

We hope that everything will work out for the best. We also hope that everyone will understand our situation and accept the out come of whatever happens. We have the greatest Fans, Racers, Sponsors and Family members that any group could ask for.

May 20th will be our final decision, if it is not made before that date.
